I just adopted my first BLM horse, a pretty little strawberry roan. A dream of 30 some years fulfilled, and 10 times as sweet as I thought it would be.
Of course I had to see the final day in Albany (my girl has only been home a week, I just couldn't bring myself to leave her until today). I noticed you and Serendipity right off, and was a bit surprised that the audience and the judges didn't seem to see what I thought was a rather impressive partnership. You have amazing presence when you're riding, and manage to compliment your horse without outshining her. She was quite the testament to your skill as a trainer. I know some are wowed by flash and sparkle, but I guess I'm old fashioned enough to prefer substance and style, to Vegas quality bling. Nothing against the other riders, each was gifted, but we all have our preferences, mine being a well-executed display of skill.
I just didn't want the numbers to take anything away from what you accomplished. Whether or not the crowd or judges understood the amazing accomplishment they were able to witness, there is really only one opinion that matters, and that's the horse. It's obvious to anyone Serendipity is your biggest fan.
Congratulations. You should be proud of her, and you. :)
