About Me

Matt Zimmerman
I am a self-employed horse trainer and live on the Oregon-Idaho border. I grew up in Central Nevada on a large family owned cattle operation. I attended Eastern Oregon University and graduated with an agriculture business degree from Oregon State University. Upon completing my degree I went on and international internship to New Zealand (to work on a sheep and crop farm) and also to Australia (to work on a cattle station in the Outback). There I worked on the station with the cattle and also trained horses. I trained horses at a young age, but my experience in Australia made me realize it was what I wanted to do as a career. At college I met my wife, Kelsey. We have two young daughters.

About Serendipity...

Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally stumbles upon something fortunate, especially while looking for something entirely unrelated. This is the perfect name for the given situation. "Sara" is from the Sheepshead/Heath Creek Unit in Oregon. (West of Burns Junction). She is approximately four years old. She seems to be a quick learner and her flight instinct is not near the mustangs I have trained in the past. She is a very trusting mare that has tons of potential.

Dynamite's Destiny 2009 Mustang

Dynamite's Destiny was a 5 year old BLM Mustang mare out of Beatty's Butte in Oregon. We competed in the Northwest Mustang Challenge in Albany, Oregon on March 19-21st. Her name was Dynamite Destiny because she had a lot of power in her and it was destiny for the two of us to come together and her to find a great home in her adopter.
